Bio

Have always been described as a mole in a hole. Early years, started collecting about 6 years old, and never looked back. Spotted by Peter Embrey at the Natural History museum and encouraged to collect - did geology at Uni (Hull - where I was in the N Yorks Moors Rescue Team, and did no work for the degree) then started a building / restoration company in Cheshire - spent a lot of time working on the Alderley Edge mines with the DCC. Found Mottramite at Mottram mine, then left and went to Australia for 18 years, running gold mines, member of Kalgoorlie Mines Rescue Team, and starting a mining software development company. Came back to the UK in 2000 to get married, lost her with cancer, bought the farm in Shropshire, settled down to retire at 40 with 2 horses and a dog, met Lucy, met loads of my old mining and collecting friends, and now I spend more time digging / restoring and exploring than running my building / restoration company. We have 4 horses, the dog who loves going underground and has her own mining lamp, and a guest apartment for any collectors / explorers who would like to use this place as a base to explore Shropshire!
