Newport Alexandre Docks Coal Port (United Kingdom)


There are two docks, North and South built in 1875 and 1907 respectively.The locks were constructed for the export of coal though went on to handle inwards goods to.
The locks into the dock have to deal with the 2nd highest tidal range in the world at some 46ft on average.
