Visiting this mine last weekend I was pleasantly surprised to find the place in pristine condition. Paint daubings and modern grafiti removed and passageways cleared. Some areas look as though they have been swept.
I have never seen this mine looking so good and would like to compliment the person or persons involved.

All it needs now is someone with scuptor skills to make a new fish fountain.................

I believe that his name is Bryan. I hope that he had some help with this.
Now I wonder if he would be interested in spending some time at Cwmystwyth

Interesting comments from Roy.
The oposite view is on the UK Caving forum
where some people want to lynch him!
The attitude is that "someone" or a clique ary trying to restrict access for their own benefit.

I have had an exchange of emails with him, he is OK but seriously p....d off with what some people are doing in there. Ge has met some face to face who deliberately taunted him spray cans in hand. This is why he is aloof to anyone he meets as he now regards all with suspicion.

I can remember the fish fountain and how I felt when I found it destroyed. This was in the 1990s.

Wilts UG politics are convoluted to say the least, wheels within wheels etc.
Problem is, Brian is taking on diverse groups who just see Browns as their 'Adventure Playground' whilst others see it as a source of scrap metal revenue.
Best of luck to him and any who may volunteer assistance.

Brian is Brian at the end of the day and whether you agree or disagree with what he does, at least he gets up off his posterior and spends a great deal of time and effort maintaining Browns.

He can come across as being a fanatic about the place (I suppose he is with the amount of time he is there) but any time I have met him in there, he has been nothing short of helpful and a source of information.

I was shown around by him a little while back, the amount of work he has put into removing litter and fresh graffiti is impressive!

He is a friendly chap and welcoming to those who explore without leaving mess or damage.
