A great achievement Roy.

If you are there on Monday, I can get up there.

I can lift a load, use a shovel, etc. if thats any use. I also have a 4 gas if you want to do an air test.

Yes if we can get into Taylors the meter will be useful, only thing is, be advised it is wet.

We all plan to meet 10.30 to 11.00, I have to drive from Great Wyrley nr Cannock so its a case of getting my idle ass out of bed.

Re Mr Graigfawr AKA Robert post:

Yes this is exactly the kind of thing I want to look at and to this end I will be speaking to Graham Levins (assuming he doesn’t read it here first!) about an extraordinary meeting of the Ceredigian Mines Forum so that all the various stakeholders can be together and discuss future strategy and also lay the framework for future projects and initiatives.
I have already outlined one idea of my own.

Surely it was "Empire" owned previously? Big Grin

Well done Roy, I know you have been working tirelessly on this for ages. I bet it gave you more than a few sleepless nights too.

It is also good that the Crown Estates wanted to do "the right thing".

I've trimmed all the cr@p from Tony's last post. If it was an attempt at humour it went over my head and over the heads of everybody who applauds Roy for the work he's put in and for what he has achieved with setting up the Cambrian Mines Trust. I'm sure that some of the Thursday Nighters (aka "The Heavy Gang" Innocent ) would come and lend a hand one weekend.
I'll suggest it and gauge the reaction Thumb Up

I think I left a polythene dig bucket containing a lump hammer, chisel, bolt croppers, hacksaw and spare blade near the first gate to get the chop. All marked 'WCG'. I forgot to pick it up before leaving. If someone could keep it safe I will get one of our group (Wirral Caving Group) at NAMHO to get it back to me.

Cheers,
Dave

It was a brilliant day! Roy's really done a great job taking such an interesting (and big) site under his wing.

Hi Dave,

I picked it up and bought it down after we'd had an explore of the level (Level Fawr)... one of the other guys will have taken charge of it (unsure who though!).

I assume those with negative views of the whole enterprise will be staying away from the mine on a point of principle?

I think it was just a really crap attempt at a joke.

It goes without saying that this is a great outcome, and hats off to Roy and his hard work.

I'm vehemently against Empire building as some of You may have seen on other forums, and I do not for one second think that Roy would ever do anything like that.

Thanks for that! At least it was picked up, so it should find its way back home at some stage...

It was a good day out - hope to get back for a day's explore at some stage.

Cheers,
Dave

We gave it to Roy and he took it with him for safe keeping.

Another couple of people that I have managed to match their faces to their usernames Thumbs Up

I went for a walk up to where the stopes come out to surface afterwards and took a few photographs etc and got down to my motor for 7pm. I have a slight sunburn Blush

Was photographing Cwmystwyth on Saturday - great light and I figured a few bods must be underground, but wasn't sure which adit to go knocking on. Was on an assignment for the FUW so had to crack on with the general itinerary... IP: 86.165.101.75

I have it at my home near Cannock. I will be back in mid Wales this weekend coming, and of course there is NAMHO coming up.

I am going to sit down and write a full report now, I have explored Level Fawr, Taylors, Aldersons and Herberts and fixed the appropriate warning signs inside. I also look forward to seeing pics that were taken on the day.
There is an issue in Level Fawr, I will describe in later posting, off to take a shower and get some food in me.
Weather has turned foul so came back home early.
