I think you should go specsavers, the headframe is NOT black, its a very pleasant shade of dark grey - almost gunmetal, looks like they have done a really good job. Well some of us do have an advantage of working almost under it. Once the lifting frame is painted and replaced back on top, I think its going to look really good, but what do I know !

I understand that it looks nice and all, but it's a shame to have it so mismatched with Robinson's headframe in colour. I was expecting they would have used the same finish on it as they did with Robinson's!

(I know I sound like a nagging, ungrateful git... but details like that irk me)

Regarding the colour - NCK is how it should look! - Reference the coal dust - thats a bit of a local joke aimed at the regeneration company who were forever convinced that crofty was a coal mine. IP: 109.156.224.192

I can see the colour much easier in that. From where I was looking it looked very dark compared to the photo.

Any idea on whether or not the cage guides etc... are still in place?

I would say as the lifting frame is currently shrouded in scaffold and being refurbished, the chances are it will be going back to where it belongs. IP: 109.156.224.192

Readers may be interested to know that the headgear on Victory Shaft at Geevor is also to be tastefully restored. Consultants are being engaged to advise on the colour[s] to be used. Shocked IP: 31.185.136.222

would suggest, if theres any life left in the big one at least, if its ready to run, they'll sell it. I know nothing about future plans, but winders used to be moved from mine to mine no problem, they're crazy expensive from new.
doesnt fit with the plans they had (ore coming up decline inside the mill) before they stopped
