Towards the end of summer and into autumn many organisations open their door as part of the Heritage Open Day scheme. I was wondering if any mine related sites are taking part this year (Grosmont Heritage Weekend on the 11th. Sept is already in the event planner) Are there any more?
I'm particularly keen to discover if Shropshire Mines Trust are doing anything at Snailbeach.

Barons' Cave Reigate, although not a mine, is opened by WCMS under the scheme (donations instead of entry charge), on the same day as the sand mines in Tunnel Road Reigate (entry charge), which are not part of the scheme.

Carrying the board about was not so bad, several young ladies wanted to wear my helmet and have their photo taken with me Wub

I'd suggest you discourage the whole issue. Any job I've ever been on that was visited by a Cabinet Minister was closed or cancelled a week later....

I've been in Russia on the Nordstream project, a gas pipeline to Europe, and we were visited by one V Putin Esq, who the Russian drivers glumly inform us is 'King of Russia'. Said gent has a sizeable entourage of large individuals in badly-fitting suits who took some feeding... egg-throwing not on the agenda, though
