Came past Olwyn Goch shaft (Milwr Tunnel) on my way to Denbigh from Mold this afternoon. Large 'For Sale' sign on roadside saying 'Hendre Mine for Sale'. It's not the mine but the old offices and mine buildings. The agents want £200k for these 'light industrial units, hardstanding and woodland...

It does include the land that the mine entrance is on. It's been for sale for a good while.

Don't really know what a buyer could do with all the land though.

This is where we need a rich benefactor who will buy it, put the mine entrance in some sort of Trust for us, then sell on the rest of it.

The access adit does however appear to lie within the property being advertised.

What were the buildings latterly used for? I had the impression a firm was drawing wire there?

It never was. It was only the surface recess that was filled (no idea if it still is).

I do know that part of the ladderway in OG has collapsed and is now impassable.
