The 2017 calendar is nearly half complete and it's only a few months off the time of year that I spend endlessly trekking to the post office with A3 envelopes Smile

I guess therefore it is time to have the discussion about where the proceeds go. My drinks tab not being a valid beneficiary Smile

Previous years have either been a group or body that has significantly benefitted our hobby; or a split between that and a CRO.

Suggestions please, then we can put it to the vote.

Can we have a breakdown of the last few years donations please Simon?, considering the recent theft of equipment incurred by the CRO?

Sounds like Cumbria Ores Mine Rescue could do with another cash injection after this very recent, nasty theft of gear... Sad

How about a 50% split, half going to Clapham CRO and the other half going to one of the mine preservation etc groups? IP: 92.3.8.196 Edited: 13/08/2016 12:48:04 by JohnnearCfon

The theft was from the CRO Clapham.
But COMRU worth putting on the list.

It would seem that a kind offer has been received to replace most of the kit stolen, so I would like to withdraw my suggestion.

I would still prefer a 50/50 split this year though.

50/50 between a rescue group and a heritage / restoration group as has been done before. Names into the hat then...

North Wales Miners Association Trust

Are a small group of mostly North Wales ex-miners
Who are working hard to preserve the Bersham head gear and winding house.
Also to take their mobile museum to local events and to schools.
Their aim is to take the story of Coal Mining to the children so that it is not lost.

The Trust aims to promote the preservation of remaining mine artefacts and record our mining heritage for future generations

For the heritage part I nominate the Goodluck Mine Preservation Club.

I haven't got any favourite for the mine rescue part, although I do notice that Cumbria Ores Mine Rescue were recipients of a donation from AN, so how about a different one?

I became a member today and would also like to nominate NWMAT. They want to represent the other minerals in North Wales in the mobile museum and not just coal.

I'm happy to add another vote for NWMAT. Good bunch of people.

I would also like to split it with a CRO.

Just a thought, doe's Miles need any help with the managers office?

Also notice that South Wales and Mendip rescuers have not received anything yet, both regions cover old mines?

I like the sound of
South & Mid Wales Cave Rescue Team
as co-recipient. Thumb Up

I think the Cwmorthin managers office is being funded by Go-Below.

These are both worthy causes, but there is rather a bias towards Wales, as has also been the case with past recipients.

How about supporting NWMAT and a non-Welsh rescue team this year?
