Would someone like to explain the shot pattern physics to achieve that fragmentation please .

Why was a Norwegian quarry blast counting down in English?

Blasting contractor is BAM. They are Scottish.

Shot pattern is basically experience of blasting that particular type of rock with a bit of trial and error. Each blast is theoretically "designed" in that the face is laser-profiled and the shot holes are surveyed for deviation prior to charging.

Impressive! Biggest blasts in N Wales have been at Holyhead breakwater quarry - many, many, many years ago and at Penmaenmawr IIRC but nothing on this scale.
