Hi, I was in there recently.
It's a long drive into the hill with several chambers
leading off but the trucks that are supposed to be in there
were no where to be seen.
Maybe there are other hidden workings nearby that I missed?

I am only aware of one "truck" and it is there (well, it was a couple of weeks ago)

There were two when I visited last summer.

We were there weekend before last, there was one wagon loaded with slate (waste I think) and another wooden 'flat bed' type. Both in the same chamber. IP: 188.39.178.242

Were you definitely in Conglog? You could be describing Rhosydd.

Did you go in via the partly flooded adit that's below the path up to Rhosydd? That's the way in to find all the goodies. Wade through the water until it dries out, continue straight until the partial collapse. Scramble through into the chamber, go straight across (past the 'shard' and remains of a tripod crane) to the tunnel opposite and after a few yards, turn right and follow the tramway track into the chamber at the end - one rubbish waggon and alongside, a slab waggon. Simples!

(If you're careful and feel for the tram rail head in the entrance to the flooded adit with your wellie, you can go crabwise along the railhead until the tunnel dries and keep your feet dry - walking on the railhead allowed you to keep within 'critical wellie depth' when I was there with Skimble and others last year...)

My thinking too, by the sounds of it... Conlog adit isn't far in length at all IIRC Oops

This is what you should be seeing - view looking back to the entrance of the chamber...

The Bogieman, many thanks for the information.
I should be able to follow your directions when I next visit.

I must have been totally off route considering I went along a very long drive high up at the head of the valley.

Halfway up the steep part of the track at the end of the valley, some stone pillars cross the track. Below the track and a few yards further along is the adit.

JohnnearCfon,
Yes indeed! I saw the sheaf wheel lying down (not me !)
and the large gear wheel in the last chamber.
No trucks.
I guess the wheel was for haulage along the level to the outside.
So I thought I was in Conglog but could find no trucks.
So what mine is this?

As stated above you were in Rhosydd No 9 adit.

Shame you didn't continue around the corner, as least you'd have seen some of the best parts of Rhosydd...can only but marvel at the unique haulage gear in this place Thumb Up
