Hey,

I know for the whereabouts of Blaencuffin, but does anyone know if it's actually still there or has it been demolished?

Thanks,
Tonto

Hi Tonto.
I was there about 12 months ago, and there is very little left to see. It's worth a walk into the woods over the road to the site of Rithin Colliery in the "canyons." Again, very little left apart from a few rails and a blocked adit entrance, but the views are spectacular.

My photos of the area are here :- http://www.industrialgwent.co.uk/llanhilleth/index.htm and show the sites of the adits.

I don't think there's any way into the workings for either mine here, you might find more of interest at Black Barn just over the hill. Have a look at the Cwm Ffrwdoer Page under 'Pontypool'

They've bulldozed spoil in front of the adits but it didn't look too successful when I was up there a couple of months ago...
