These are promo shots for a new car, taken against a quarrying background. But where?

Please, no cheating by searching t'interweb as some of the later pictures are very obvious!

Note: no, SimonRL, you're not allowed to join in, seeing as you were asked to help find a location for this!

No idea. Took me long enough to work out what the car was. The rest of the pics don't help me either.

Random guess - Dinorwig.

Surely those photos are taken in quite different places!

I thought I knew where the second photo was, but the later ones just confused me more!

Funnilly enough about 10years ago they were filming an advert for a Daihatsu Fourtrak in the Moel Tryfan (Alexandria) Quarry as I was walking past. Must be an 'official location', especially considering some of the Tomb Raider film was also filmed here.

Bottom image looks like Llanberis Pass though.

The second photo I thought was Dinorwic (somewhere near where C1 incline disappears at water edge), it was the other photos that made me think otherwise.

Something of a give away!

ChrisJC and JohnnearCfon were indeed correct, from very limited hints!

Now then... where exactly was this one taken?

Sorry guys, but does anyone of an older persuasion remember the SAAB 900 5 - door turbo ad shot in a quarry where the driver was in touch with a control tower and with clever shooting & editing made us SAAB owners dribble as the car "took off' into the wide blue yonder ....

I've matured a bit since then - moved on to Volvo.
And I listen to ABBA on my iPod while underground.

I'm not complaining. I'd like to see a Honda try to fly. And what, exactly, is wrong with ABBA? Or would a Cornish folk song by Brenda Wooten tick your box?

Only joking .... (I used to live in Cornwall)

I would guess the penultimate one is Fron Quarry (one of the Moel Tryfan ones as others have pointed out).

The shape of Y Garn above Drws-Y-Coed is quite distictive.

Here we go, off topic once more - not a helicopter, but a jet fighter manufactured by SAAB, the 'Griffin' I believe. Used to be nice cars until GM took them over.
