hi, it is great to see this photo, win the competition!
Also thanks for making the pictures posting, of the colliery and the associated strike marches.
I would however make the point, that none of the pictures showed any ‘happy’ miners!
Ie. miners with a smile on their faces!
This certainly is not how I remember, visiting a working coal mine in that era, perhaps, Markham was different!
