May be good for the place if it helps preserve it?

What thye doing acces wise? Walking up the incline is probably a bit hard going for the average tourist.....

If it keeps the place open and accessible, then all power to them.

What sort of condition is it in nowadays? Does the Incline house still exist? One of my favourite features in any mine I've been in.

Anyone know what is happening re Maenofferen access? Was there a few weeks back and the winch house at the top of the entry incline is now cladded in metal sheet and scaffolding. Pretty much blocks the way in there now. IP: 146.198.20.234

Hello, i'm planning on visiting there soon to do some filming....are we talking the N.3 Rhiwbach drumhouse or the large steam/electric one in the Twll....with the blue window frames? And are they restoring them or just preventing further deterioration?

Cheers, Pete

Yes, but you have to remember it's a tourist attraction so you need your website to be understood by non locals!

Their business manager's toes must be a real mess with such shooting skills. Even if they think all the punters who'd look them up are Non Welsh Speakers.... Total lack of respect for the community they operate within. Shiish!

Literal translation would be something like "massive rock", unless the 'offeren' bit was originally 'offeryn' meaning instrument or tool; in which case "instrument rock"...?

Any thoughts? Blink

... Mass of Rock. Bearing in mind translations seldom grammatically fit perfectly from one language to another.
