I appreciate that I've pushed the geographical location further than was originally intended. It isn't as far west as Ireland, but it is quite a way off the Pennines. It the sort of place known for big wheeler-dealers, in every sense. That's as much as you're getting at the moment. IP: 95.145.215.186

Nah, they're Pennine mines on Raby land Guns and without extant rails or pipe ranges.

Has a whiff of Nent about it.

I'm going to stick out my neck and go with Caplecleugh

Sorry, this is an above ground photo as I haven't got ready access to any decent underground ones which I haven't already uploaded.

I'm sure someone will recognise it within 5 minutes. Smile

(It's not necessarily in the north Pennines.)

I have it narrowed down to 3 but I don't want to win by employing a 'scatter-gun' approach and just naming North Wales slate mines until I get it right Innocent
I'll let someone else have a pop first Thumb Up

It's a rail wagon innit Smile

There is a railway line not too far away, but that's true of a large number of the Welsh slate quarries.

Edit: There is a railway station a little over 2km away as the crow flies, but I very much doubt that this particular railway ever served the quarry in question. There is a completely different railway, at a different gauge, approximately 3km away as the crow flies.
