Hey all, I came across an entrance today whilst having a wander around dyserth. Was wondering if anyone knew about it? It's right on the footpath but in a place I don't usually get to. It's just above the blue lion pub in Cwm, and not much comes up in a search, what with cwm being such a common name!

Have family in walking distance so was wondering if there's much in the area to have a nose at Smile

Would this feature be very near the crosshair position as there's a 'covered well' on the old maps?

It's an area I know moderately well, and yes, it's right by the crosshairs on your map.

I recall being told that it was a well that was dug back and channeled to ensure stability of the water supply.

And there's a fair bit in the area to have a look at, both surface and underground. Pennant (5-ish miles to the south) Talargoch (2-3 miles north) are decent engine houses in reasonable condition, and lots of small (and large !) underground workings, some that are as simple as walking in and ducking your head a bit.

Ahhh that's great thanks, cheers for the info.

Probably not worth optimistically poking my head into then!

As a well, does it really warrant a database entry ?

There are 2 photographs of it (outside pic and one looking in) in my personal album

Not really sure but is appears to be an adit?

I'm sure a Mod will give us some guidance.

Edit: Nice pics Rob, thanks.

I've created it. If Simon or someone thinks it shouldn't be here, then they can always wipe it out.

Is it possible to move the pics from my personal album to the 'proper' album ? I've tried from within the album, but it just takes me back to the homepage.

Not really sure, perhaps you have to upload from your PC for mine database entries?
