I went down Whiteheaps for the first time, and was wondering if anyone had a plan for this mine? IP: 79.74.36.0

Yep.
I'll see if I can photograph them and post tomorrow. They're rather large though, might have to be in sections.

I am interested in exploring this mine too after being told about it by a mate. However as a novice, I was wondering if it can be walked or is it SRT only? IP: 90.203.50.32

Been ages but I will give it a go.
Memory serving me correct I did it with my old mate "Heb" and his charming ladyfriend "KC", she will like the "charming" bit if she reads it.

Anyway, shaft entry via about 40 feet? fixed ladder fitted by CAT, most interesting workings.

Incline entrance, (you may have to dig it open) to some minor workings.

RF now in his cups

That sounds great, thanks Roy. I am trying to get a list of mines to explore that dont require SRT. Thanks for the info Smile IP: 90.203.50.32

Could I suggest keeping things a bit quieter about this area? Keep underground gear under cover. I'm told that the local estate isn't too keen on underground access.
The incline is well & truly blocked, filled in by the guys working Grove Rake - because someone was seen going in!
I'd probably suggest a rope on the shaft - it's wide, and the ladder goes right down the middle, supported by a scaffold pole about half way, if it fails you won't climb out of that one.

Having been in recently I second what Heb says about the ladder and careful quiet access - the estate is not happy about explorers. IP: 79.66.88.11

Sounds like good advice. Think I will be staying clear of this one. Cheers Smile IP: 90.203.50.32
