Just added a few photos of a mine shaft collapse from colliery closed 1896
Shaft just had rails placed over it,oak planking, then earth
124 years later,it finally gave way

my uncle,born and bought up at red barn farm says the pub was in the location of railway bridge newton side,as stated by others,but demolished before his time.

i recall there being a mine shaft marker on the nth section of M1 just to left of saw pit lane bridge,opposite the small wooded area.but on M1 side of fence

im pretty sure its the one in roger keys field off of wood lane newton.stand on motorway bridge at tibshelf service station and its on the left of the south bound side of motorway 1st field.further do
