I believe an idea for a pier from the minesite out to deep water was also floated but quickly discounted! :lol:

The railway route would need some mega engineering of its own, at least 2 massive viaducts and Loftus? and Staithes would need rebuilding , Larpool at Whitby is still there but I doubt its in good nic
