looking at it the lock was lubricated by the fuel so the good few years of non use its had aka since it left the factory and the sheer amount of dust damp and brasso caused the fault.

ah ok that would cause issue and be a logistic nightmare to move an RSJ unless you cut it up into small sections and put fish plates on the RSJ and use that to make the beam to size when its in situ.
