New Portal

The outflow from this famous level was diverted through an innocuous looking 'pipe' to allow the ground above to be developed for the building of starter homes. Where the pipe turns right to join the original Nent Force level someone had left a wheelbarrow ....!
Just behind the camera in the cliff is a small trial which has been dammed up to provide a water supply for the downstream foundry (closed) and running at right angles to that the three foot high underground feeder race to an old woollen mill, also downstream, can be followed, although it dips at an alarming rate.
