Wheal Glynn Lead Mine (United Kingdom)

Wheal Glynn situated in Hurtstocks Wood nr Cardinham is now easy to get to with a walk of half a mile along a mostley forest track.
Started in the early 1850s by an adit, by 1856 an engine house had been built the shaft was down to 34fms, in january 1857 the engine was started with a dinner for 50 mechanics presided over by Captain Vercoe the manager of the mine.
Sales of 18 tons of lead ore were recorded in 1859 but working appears to have stoped soon after.
In 1864 a proposed reworking of Wheal Glynn under the name of Cardinham Wheal Rose came to nothing
