New Winning South of Duke Pit, Unknown if part of The Walbottle Group or Throckley Group? or if New winning is its name? 1859 map shows wagonway linking upto Duke Pit, with possible shafts? 1920 map lists as old coal shafts. Situated on the Throckley Maria pit Wagonway,Today two shafts remain within an allotment area, whilst substantial walled remains in a deep cutting below the shaft area. Also large substation nearby in a derelict condition possibly connected to the mine
