Description added by LeeWRemains of Newcomen Beam Engine House used to pump water. Installed in c1719 is believed to be the second such type of engine installed in Scotland. In 1732 a larger engine was installed. There may have been a rotative engine at some time. The site sits on the edge of Auchenharvie Golf Course.
