Trials were first made here in the mid 18th century. Chalcopyrite was said to be found in addition to galena. The Nant-y-Blaidd Silver-Lead Mining Company worked here from 1870 to 1872 and drove 2 adits but produced little ore and went into liquidation in December 1872.
