Hosey Common Sandstone Mine (United Kingdom)


Ragstone mine for building stone. Some dispute that the rock is ragstone this far west, but it is in the same beds as the ragstone extracted around Maidstone further east. Probably 19th century. Six or seven separate series identified. The more northern ones are gated. The other minor ones are sealed.

Level open but grilled as bat hibernaculum
