A small mine near the shore of Nantymoch worked off and on until the turn of the century. The origins of this mine are unknown but very likely first worked by the Company of Adventurers in the 18th century. Later, it was often worked along with the Havan mine but it is thought that the two never actually connected.
The mine was worked for lead, zinc, and copper. Little if any trace of lead mineralization is currently discernible, but there is plenty of secondary copper staining.
In 1994 the no 1 winze which takes the water from the adit was descended to a large stope. In 2018 -19 a road was dug through the fall from Strides Shaft (Hafan Shaft in OT Jones) from the stope with the ore barrow. Ropes and traverse fitted. A winze kibble in near perfect condition was discovered along with other interesting features. Water enters at no 1 winze and another point and disappears into rubble in the floor. This must be exiting by the Hafan Deep adit. There is also the frame of a ventilation door in the adit outbye. This does tend to indicate a connection with Hafan Mine
