Gregory Gold Mine (United States)

On May 6th 1859 John H. Gregory discovered a gold lode in Colorado. The Gregory mining district, became the first mining district in Colorado.

Remnants of the first gold lode vein discovered in Colorado. The wood cribbing retaining the tailings is laminated in some places, a previously unused cribbing construction unique at the time to the Gregory Tailings.
