Dun Fell Iron Mine (United Kingdom)


Grid ref is for Dunfell Low Level there is also Dun Fell Hush 718318 another small hush 720319, short level at 7172 3186, another level on Henrake Vein 7229 3199.
The area was well investigated by Messrs Colvilles Ltd in the 1940s and the old levels partly reopened, plenty of limonitic ore was found but it was uneconomic to work and high in phosphor.
