Quarry owned by and connected to the Stanton Ironworks, Its output was taken by a 16.5 inch gauge horse drawn railway from the Quarry to Dale Abbey No 2 Colliery where it was transhipped onto a twin track rope worked double track railway (again 16.5 inch gauge) for about another 1.2km where along with coal it would have been transhipped into standard gauge wagons at the "Shunt" as it was known locally. The Shunt survives and seems to have been built in two phases, one being stone and heavily built which has survived and the other side brick which has all but collapsed.
