Crown Gold Mine (South Africa)

Crown Mines close to the original discovery of the main gold bearing reefs by George Harrison and George Walker in 1886. They were walking one Sunday morning on the Langlaagte Farm when the reef was discovered.
Shortly after this saw the start of the Gold Rush and the very beginning of the develpment of the city now known as Egoli, the place of Gold better known as Johannesburg.
