Deep Ecton/Clayton Mines

These are a fantastic couple of copper mines- the original source of the wealth which built Buxton, including the opera house and hospital. Have a look at: for photographs, maps and other avalible information on the mines.

Requirements for the trip are that everyone signs an indemnity form before going underground and that a donation to the Ecton Mines Trust is made - £5.00 per person is suggested. Standard underground kit is required, no SRT.

The meeting place is the parking area by the old creamery at Ecton, 10.00 start
