My first post on this topic here.
A friend has given me his colour slides to scan and there are a few of a tunnelling job he was involved with in the early 1970s. He can't remember the exact location nor the name of the main contractor but it was for some sort of surface water relief scheme at or near Gravesend, Kent.
I have tried to contact the local Gravesend Historical Society but without success.
I am hoping that someone on this Forum might have some knowledge of this contract.
TIA,

Roger

Hi 50 Shades,

Thanks for your reply but this was definitely a small diameter (approx 1.5 metres) sewer tunnel, not a vehicle tunnel such as the 2nd Dartford tunnel under the Thames.

Regards,

Morlock,

Thanks for pointing to that - will ask the photographer if any of it jogs his memory as to the location of the tunnel.
