The owner of the converted sawmills up at the Coppermines at Coniston has begun construction of a 32' waterwheel to enhance the building's use as a holiday home and wedding venue.

The waterwheel is a new build along with the launder and water supply, the whole thing going into the existing wheelpit.

The original wheel was in operation until the 1890's being used to produce cut timber and pitwork for the mine.
