Afternoon all wonder if you could help. I went for a stomp up by Tywarnhayle mine this sat with the boy and found a couple of shafts with steel doors in situ. Also found something else a bit further down the hillside …..?

I understand CSM used the mine for training back in the days so I'm wondering if that is the entrance or was it further down by the main road and buildings .?

cheers

Hi tintin.
The entrance is a vertical steel door (currently unlocked) hidden in bushes beside the path ,near the top ,very close to the welded shut shaft cover. This leads hundreds of feet down ,via ladders and fixed ropes. All in good safe condition .Miles of tunnels to explore.Gets warm an humid dont forget a drink. Hope this helps.

Yep it was RSM not Camborne. Remember it well having a fridge come down the shaft whilst we were surveying! IP: 178.167.155.28
