Anybody have more info on New Herrington, otherwise known as Philadelphia?
As far as I can tell my grandfather was killed here in 1943. He wasn't a miner and was killed unloading timber for pit props.

The vague information I have is that it may have happened at Philadelphia or it may have happened in the woods somewhere in Northumberland.
He had a timber haulage company and a load of timber fell on him
Mildly curious to figure out where it actually happened.

Thanks, he isn't on it but wasn't employed there, just making a delivery as far as I can tell
One version of the tale has him killed there and another as killed somewhere in the forrest
