Had a short walking trip in here today only to be confronted with lots of graffiti that was sprayed on the 8th June because the mindless idiots have there initials and date all over the place , and the lovely cart is now a complete mess.

I do feel that this place is now being raped beyond belief it has really upset my wife what louts there is about. Guns

Guns

Does anybody know who was in there on Thursday ?

Probably as a result of the HH owner refusing access to proper explorers and led groups, there is less of a responsible policing of the site and the nob heads are able to move around unimpaired. I expect it to get worse.

Edit - Why is this in the N Wales region? Admin!

This is EXACTLY what happens when a site is no longer visited by those who look after it, out of respect for owners wishes to limit or remove access, but those who don't give a damn for either owners or the site feel free to enter and trash it.

Crying oh cr*p

Is it me or is this sort of thing on the rise a bit?

I was going to enquire after the current access situation and if things had been resolved at all since a trip there would have served a particular purpose for me in the near future but it sounds rather more like things are deteriorating Sad

What does the fellow at Oldfield Design make of it all?

Access is still permitted via Ent 2 after contact with Oldfield Design. It's only an issue with parking and access at Ent 1. DCA are working on it but discretion is advised.
Access updates will be listed on the DCA's excellent cave registry: http://thedca.org.uk/dca-cr/registry/sitedetails.php?id=584

If visiting please can you grab some pictures or at least give us (DCA) an idea of the extent of the cleaning required so we can try to get it sorted.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification. If I do visit it won't be until July - but if the current situation is still ongoing then I will certainly take pictures of what I find. IP: 86.140.150.47

I believe the timberwork on this wagon isn't original but was put on when there were plans to make the place a show mine, so at least it can be removed abrasively.

I suspect that following the lock-down of Middleton, the dickheads who were treating it as their personal playground and trashing what was left have found other places to mess around. Just hope that they Darwinate themselves somewhere above ground rather than creating bad publicity for old mines....

AR is correct the waggon chassis came from Friden brick works and the wooden boards were fitted for the Davie block moulds.
It was taken down the mine by Gorden Bowering on the last attempt at re-opening as a show mine.
So its not original to the mine but some in the block works were as were the two winches on chasis.
