An old Gypsum Mine close to the Surface is the cause . Ebsary Road is South of where the Collapse is and is an area that has had problems before . The Town of Wheatland has many areas with abandoned Mines close to the Surface . This is in Western New York State in the County of Monroe . Look west of Garbutt on the Map . -- Inst O M.R.R.
