They did not seem to be able to understand these gentle and polite requests. Good job I am not one of the admins as I am sure after the requests were ignored I would have removed them from the group. ![]() ![]() |

I had made an innocent request for information and wanted to know why people were so touchy about it. There was really no harm in that. This wasn't Official Secrets Act material. I had not come along to stir up a past pot I didn't know anything about and now I have an explanation I am happy. But just shutting people up isn't the right thing to do and I am grateful for MRSF explaining the position on this group and also a couple of other people sending me info privately. Therefore, my curiosity is satisfied. I am sure many of us have questions be they about mines or railways we would like answers to? I now understand why MRSF wasn't able to explain full. Most places appear to like or at least tolerate it for the extra money it brings to the local economy. John Hi John, A lot people around there are descendants of miners and they have no particular problem with low key Tourism. You have to remember its a living village with quite a few elderly residents. Tourists do bring income but in general the community does not benefit other than noise, crowds and inevitable litter. The site has been inundated with crowds of ignorant Lycra clad mountain bikers whilst Wales was closed. They contribute nothing apart from using the public toilets and washing off there muddy bikes and gear in them. We are gradually opening on Sundays if you would like to pop along you will be able to get into the buildings (send me a PM to make sure it is open we have a shortage of volunteers as many are unavailable due to Covid) The railway group never talked to us it seemed ridiculous personally it seemed to be elaborate scam . There are several properties that have been built on the line and with the landscaping would be extremely difficult to follow it around Snailbeach or up into Grahams Quarry Mike IP: 77.96.189.154 Edited: 16/07/2020 10:27:42 by Moorebooks |
