Roy have you tried "planking" also a good posture and ab exercise

I go though all that.

Here is a good one, my own invention.

Exercise is best performed when warm and relaxed. The latter can be difficult, if you think about it.

I have developed routines that I perform lying on bed.
A good simple one is on your back and grasp each foot with both hands and draw it up as close as you can get to your head.
I have some others that would have little general appeal such as keeping my leg straight touch forehead with each knee, and pushing both knees down on the bed with my feet drawn up.

A guy held a punch pad up at head height a while back and I ploughed in with a roundhouse kit that nearly knocked him over. "Bloody hell" he came out with. And yet I dont do it the way its supposed to be in Shotokan. It fast as well! I call it "the lightening strike"

I am sure that if I had to use it on the street the would be attacker would fail to appreciate that little nuance.

Thing is, I dont want to go off at a tangent, but we all get peed off with politics. Well we get it in karate. They change the katas to be 'different' to the 'classical', and I am doing a kick the wrong way?
Like I said, someone on the receiving end would differ.
Rant over.

Thanks for the advice ! It made me think about active exercising as I also have lots of old injuries. I went to a chiropractor a few
years ago when my shoulder froze, and part of the fix were a set of exercises. I dug those exercises out and combined with yoga my aches are going !

I see a ostopath as well every 3 months, as a sort of maintance.

Massage, ultrasound (as in heating of tissues, not scan), electromuslce therapy and then the crunch click of bones.

Even if feeling relatively supple, it is amazing what knots and little aches this can get rid of.

Naproxen does it for me every time, especially for my very stiff back and arthritic feet, but you need to check whether it is wise to take NSAIDs on a long-term basis. (I used to go to a weight gym, do long country walks and yoga and then developed arthritis. GP sent me to a physio. What did they recommend - exercise!) IP: 80.42.155.148

Yes. I had it when I broke my back; worked quite well as the pain was coming from bruised/ damaged muscle rather than actual broken bones.
Have had it a couple of times since for a trapped nerve in my neck and it worked wonders. It seems that nerve problems respond better. My physio is around £35 for an hour of acupuncture, heat and generally being punched and pounded.
Combined effect always makes a massive improvement.

What you need is a little gentle exercise and lots and lots of rest. Like that is ever going to happen! Roll Eyes

The main problem is my job and being self employed I have to work as there is no sick pay, no work no money ! My Dr says rest but thats easy to say when you are on a nice salary with benefits of sick pay.

I explored a fireclay mine last year with very low passages and my back was killing me when I emerged, the men who dug these low mines must have been pretty short I'd imagine. Work like undercutting coal seams at floor level with a pickaxe before blasting must have been incredibly tough work. IP: 92.23.221.50

Hand mucking out in poorly ventilated sub level inters that had been driven by a short fella down a Cornish tin mine was a recipe for back ache and sweat ache for sure, when the geologist and the shift boss came down and said the inters will need to be driven another 50 ft or more either side of the raise it was a recipe for some gob ache too.

Every time I enter a mine I think about how hard and incredibly tough it must have been on these people and even the children ! I get so pissed off hearing all the **** about " how difficult it is for kids nowadays ! ! they don't know they are born !.AngryAngryAngry you dont have to go back centuries when kids didn't have any shoes and the like.
