Miners Reunited

Miners Reunited is a new feature that hopes to increase the usefulness of the site to both past and present mine and quarry workers.

If you work or worked in the mining or quarrying industry you can now add yourself to the workforce for any mine or quarry in the AditNow database.

Spread the Word

If you know any groups or individuals that you think may be interested in this feature (or the site in general) please feel free to let them know about it. The more people registered on it the better the chances that people can track down old workmates.

How to Use the Miners Reunited Feature

Adding yourself to the past or present workforce of a mine or quarry is easy. Firstly, find the mine or quarry using one of the many search methods; list by mineral/product, list by OS sheet, name search etc. Look under Find a Mine on the left hand side main menu.

On the mine/quarry home page (where the photograph albums, documents etc are listed) look for the 'Workforce' section on the right hand side of the page:

Click the 'Add Yourself' link to add yourself to the past or present workforce. You will then be required to fill out a basic form:

Simply complete the years you started and finished working at the mine or quarry (if still working there select this year as the finish year) and indicate whether you'd like you real name showing in the list or not. The default response here is 'No' since this will link your real name with your username, however if you'd like colleagues to be able to identify you from the list select 'Yes'. Note if you select 'Yes' then your real name will only show in this list, your username will be used everywhere else on the site as normal.

Any details you enter can be edited at any time from your Profile page.
