Brunton Buddles: A pair of Brunton buddles for separating lead ore from its matrix.
The body of the machine is a canvas belt which runs uphill while a mixture of finely crushed ore and rock is fed onto the belt in a stream of water from the top.

Skears Limekilns: A bank of four Kilns below the quarry. The oldest is the rightmost of the intact kilns and was first built in the 18th century, rebuilt in 1939. The middle kiln was built in the second half of the 19th century and the leftmost in the early 20th century.

On 25th of September 1886. 7 people were killed by blast fume from a planned explosion.
A particularly large blast was planned in the quarry and a large group of sightseers arrived by paddlesteamer to view the blast.

Memorial stone erected by Carn Brae Mining Society and St Just Town Council: Cargodna Shaft
41 men descended this shaft on 10th of January 1893. At 9 am a holing occurred which engulfed the mine with water from old Wheal Drea. 20 men were drowned and their bodies were never recovered. (Wheal-Owles-Tin-Mine-User-Album-Image-36222)

Arsenic labyrinth: Fume from the calciner was directed back and forth down the flues on the left of the picture then over the arch at the bottom and back and forth up the flues on the right in order to condense arsenic from the fume.

John Shaft: The concrete cap on the John Shaft of Hamsterley Colliery.
