Underground Canal Inclined Plane

A drawing of the upper locks of the Underground inclined plane which connected the Upper and Main Navigable Levels. This was reproduced in a paper by E.R.Halsall & J.P. Trickett on "The Duke of Bridgewater's Underground Canals" to the Manchester Geological and Mining Society in November 1963. Both worked for the NCB North Western Area at the time.
