Wemyss Lead Mine (United Kingdom)

(PLEASE NOTE: THERE ARE PICTURES IN THE USER ALBUM EVEN THOUGH IT DOESN'T SHOW ANY ON THE BOX BELOW) Wemyss mine is a large site full of dressing floors, tips and a tramway to the adjacent Frongoch mine. The mine is right by the lane to Abermagwr from Pontrhydygroes, not far from a crossroad past Frongoch to Trisant. A single masonry adit survives, the rest blocked. Above the road are huge dressing floor buildings and the terminus of the former tramway. Under the road, the smooth tips from the crusher descend to Nant Cwmnewydion.
