Stanley Kilbourne Colliery (Stanley Kilburn) Coal Mine (United Kingdom)

This mine was sunk in 1870 by the Ogden family. The first manager being Alexander Ogden. The mine was sold to the Small Brothers but was closed in 1875 when the mine along with its owners were bankrupt. The mine was later sold in 1895 to the Derby Kilbourne Coal Co for use as a pumping and ventilation pit in support of its nearby Stanley Footrill Colliery. The shaft can still be seen and there are the substantial remains of the base of the horizontal pumping engine.
