Stanhopeburn Fluorite Mine (United Kingdom)
An old mine worked as far back as 1846 by various concerns for ironstone, lead and latterly spar. The last commercial working was Swiss aluminium (UK) Ltd who worked the Shield Hurst Level for fluorspar from 5th April 1975 to 14th Jan 1982.
