Springfield No 1 & No 2 Clay Mine (United Kingdom)

Located near Shibden dale. Opened for fireclay in 1970 by C & S Parkinson. the mine was via 2 adits uniquely fitted with a plateway as against normal Tramways. By 1991 the mine co had been re-named Parkinson-Spencer Refractories Ltd. No 1 mine closed in 1991 after the new number 2 mine was opened a mere 100 yards away.
