Riber Lead Mine (United Kingdom)

Based on speculation that the Shaley Vein might prove to be the Eastern continuation of Coalpithole rake, a decline was sunk (3m wide) 500m long. However it was found that the 'Old Man' had successfully penetrated the hillside far deeper than expected and the best ore was gone. The mines adit also intersected Side Mine.
Small quantities of Lead and Zinc were produced before closure in 1959.
