Pits Copse Sandstone Quarry (United Kingdom)

Today, this a series of well preserved mounds and hollows, sometimes with very steep slopes. Among the rubble were found four unfinished quern fragments. This site supplied Iron Age and Roman quernstones from late Bronze Age to the Late Roman period, and its heyday was in the 1st century AD.
