Old Grit & East Grit Lead Mine (United Kingdom)
Old and East Grit mines were known to be operating in 1860's, two engine houses can be seen today, the most complete being at the farm (East Grit) and is a nice example, it was erected by John Taylor. The other engine house (Old Grit) is just one wall adjacent to a nice stone lined open shaft.
Access possible by footpath but to view the East Grit engine house please get permission from the farmhouse.
